Abstract

The categories of Kant's understanding are focused on nature, and for this reason, it is not possible to form empirical human and social science in Kant's intellectual framework; At the same time, the neo-Kantian movement, which considers itself indebted to Kant in its general orientation towards the process of knowledge formation, provides a new interpretation of the categories of knowledge, providing the basis for the realization of knowledge focused on human, social and historical issues. . As one of the most important French neo-Kantian philosophers of the 19th century, "Rennovier" provides a context for his outstanding student, Emile Durkheim, to lay the epistemological foundation for the establishment of positivist sociology in the light of his teacher's neo-Kantian narrative of the categories of understanding. and to develop scientific knowledge in the field of social issues as well. Emphasizing the social nature of the categories of knowledge, Durkheim formulates the knowledge of social realities in sociology in the form of the concept of collective representation, and thus sociological positivism as an approach to establish social laws under the conditions of the subject and in line with the determination of collective representations
