Abstract
Myth is the possibility that enables or inspires thinking; a subject that contemporary thought has increasingly shown itself to be without need for or is trying to get rid of as an “unscientific-unhistorical surplus.” By referring to the myth of Narcissus in the present article, it was shown how the formation of narcissism in its relationship with the image can profoundly affect our perception of the two fields of aesthetics and psychoanalysis. Narcissism, which is formed as a result of the subject’s mythical encounter with his or her own image, has brought together the origins of two seemingly different phenomena: aesthetic form and psychoanalytic disorder. Thus, form and neurosis, through this common origin, inherit a genome from each other and bear the stamp of each other on their foreheads; They are related to each other without being reduced to each other. Finally, the metaphorical-theoretical connection of a common origin for neurosis and form, which are linked by a common essential element, the "image", can be considered an inspiring idea for both psychoanalysis and aesthetics.
