This research is about the understanding of the femininity of motherhood and what are the factors that constructed motherhood within the scope of women's responsibilities and based on which situations and elements is it understood and what are its consequences on the everyday life of women. By using the grounded theory approach and conducting in-depth interviews with 32 people and collecting and analyzing data, four phenomena of "maternal feminization", "resistance to maternal feminization", "dominant and ideal discourse of motherhood" and "resistance against the dominant discourse of motherhood” have been emerged. From the findings, it appears that women are expected to fulfill the role of mother completely, it is a matter constructed by structures and traditions and due to the pressure of different discourses. On the other hand, women's desire for motherhood has been understood by some as a universal phenomenon, instinctive and eternal in nature. "Dominant discourse of motherhood" calls women to comply with the ideal models of motherhood, and the approaches that oppose this discourse by moving from "motherhood" to "mothering", the central phenomenon of "multiplicity in the role of mothering" " and include the pseudo-theory "emergence of fluid mothering practices"As a result, the myth of "motherhood, a female role" is challenged and causes a shift from the approaches that consider motherhood to be purely feminine and possessing inherent originality towards the fluidity and dynamism of the construction of mothering. In this sphere of discourse, mothering is not necessarily considered feminine.
